Why It Matters

What Accredited Status Unlocks For You

The private markets have historically outperformed public markets. Until now, access was reserved for institutions and the ultra-wealthy. Accredited status is your key.

Private Equity

Own stakes in private companies before they go public. Target returns: 15–25% IRR

Real Estate Syndications

Invest in institutional-grade properties. Passive income + appreciation. Min: $25K–$100K

Venture Capital

Back the next breakout startup early. Early investors in unicorns saw 100x+ returns

Hedge Funds

Sophisticated strategies that profit in any market — long, short, and everything in between

Private Debt

Higher-yield fixed income. Lend directly to companies and real estate projects. 8–15% target

The private markets represent over $30 trillion in global assets. Most people have no access. Accredited investors do. Find out if you qualify — free, in 3 minutes.

Letters are prepared to meet the “reasonable steps” verification standard that sponsors rely on for Regulation D Rule 506(c) offerings.

🔒
Your documents stay private

Financial documents are encrypted in transit and at rest, seen only by your assigned professional, and deleted 90 days after your letter is issued. They are never sold or shared.

No-risk promise

If we can’t provide your verification for reasons on our end, you get a full refund. And if the CPA can’t confirm you qualify, we send you our Accredited Investor Roadmap & toolkit free to help you get there.

Have you earned $200,000 or more in each of the last two years?
If you count income jointly with a spouse, the number is $300,000. It has to be both years — not just one.
Income is only one of five ways to qualify. If this one isn’t you, keep going — net worth, a securities license, and a few other paths each qualify on their own.
Question 1 of 6
What is your estimated net worth?
Net worth is everything you own minus everything you owe — not counting your primary home.
What counts as net worth?
Include: savings, stocks, retirement accounts (401k/IRA), rental properties, business equity.
Exclude: your primary home and its mortgage.
Example: $400K retirement + $200K stocks + $100K savings = $700K net worth.
Question 2 of 6
Do you hold a financial securities license?
A few licenses — Series 7, 65, or 82 — qualify you on their own, no matter your income or net worth.
Question 3 of 6
Do you help run the company offering the deal?
Officers, directors, and partners of that company qualify on their own.
Question 4 of 6
Do any of these describe you?
Some private-fund employees, and people who help run a family’s investments ($5M+), also qualify.
Question 5 of 6
Which of these interest you most?
Accredited status unlocks these private markets — usually reserved for institutions and the ultra-wealthy. Select all that appeal to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about accredited investor status and our services.

What is an accredited investor?
An accredited investor meets specific SEC criteria related to income, net worth, or professional licensure. Individuals qualify if they earned $200K+ annually (or $300K jointly) for the past two years, have a net worth exceeding $1M excluding their primary residence, or hold an active FINRA Series 7, 65, or 82 license.
Is the self-assessment quiz legally binding?
No. The free quiz is an educational self-assessment only. The certificate is a decorative novelty — not a legally recognized verification document. For Reg D Rule 506(c) investments, use our licensed CPA verification service.
What is the primary residence exclusion?
The value of your primary home is excluded from the $1M net worth calculation. However, if your mortgage exceeds your home's market value, that negative equity does reduce your net worth. Vacation homes and investment properties count toward net worth.
How often does accredited investor status need to be verified?
CPA-issued letters are generally valid for 90 days under SEC safe harbor rules for Reg D Rule 506(c) offerings. Some issuers accept a self-certification of no material change within a 5-year window for repeat investors.
What is the free printable certificate?
The certificate is a decorative wall ornament celebrating your self-assessed qualification. It is NOT a legal document and carries no legal weight. A disclaimer is printed directly on the certificate.
What paper and frame should I use?
Print on 24 lb. 100% cotton certificate paper (Southworth or Strathmore) in ivory or natural white at maximum quality. Sized for 8.5" x 11". Frame in a standard document frame or mat to 11" x 14". Black, brushed gold, or dark walnut frames look best. Find frames at Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Walmart, or Amazon.
Is a CPA verification letter as good as an attorney letter for a 506(c) offering?
Yes. Under SEC Rule 506(c), a verification letter signed by a licensed CPA is accepted by issuers exactly the same as a letter from an attorney, registered investment adviser, or registered broker-dealer. A CPA-signed letter fully satisfies the reasonable-steps verification requirement, and AccreditedNow's CPA letters are accepted by Reg D issuers nationwide.
Can individual investors get CPA verification?
Yes — our $99 individual plan is designed specifically for investors who need a legally recognized letter for a specific Reg D investment. Simply upload your financial documents and a licensed CPA will review and issue your letter within 2–3 business days.
How long does CPA verification take?
Standard verification is 2–3 business days, and guaranteed 24-hour priority is available for an additional $29.
Is my data secure?
All documents are transmitted over TLS 1.3 encrypted connections and stored with AES-256 encryption at rest. Only your assigned licensed CPA has access. Files are deleted 90 days after your letter is issued.
What happens to my personal information?
Your quiz information is shared or sold to vetted third-party investment sponsors, fund managers, and financial service providers only if you opt in by checking the optional consent box. If you don't check it, we never share or sell your information. You can also opt out anytime by emailing optout@accreditednow.org.
How do I opt out of data sharing?
Email optout@accreditednow.org with your name and email address and we will remove you from all sharing lists within 10 business days. California residents have additional rights under CCPA.
How do I contact AccreditedNow?
Email info@accreditednow.org or call (317) 537-7625 Monday–Friday 9 AM–6 PM ET. Opt-out requests: optout@accreditednow.org. CPA verification status: verify@accreditednow.org.
